This is the other side of my personality: the Music.
Music that is difficult, then temptating, capturing, fascinating, affecting a full scale of emotions. Music for sensitive people who expect from the music a bit more than only a good rythm for twisting  their backsides.
It is progressive rock. Believe me how wide are the areas of music outside the main field of interest of the so called "music industry". Many genres, like progressive rock, appeal to deeper and more sophisticated levels of human mind. Melodies created by, let's say early Genesis, Yes, Spock's Beard or Twin Age are very unusual, complex and based on strange rythm metra. After the first listening they may not appeal at all, but after another couple they get extremely exciting. You keep finding new things that begin to impress you. A good progressive rock production shouldn't bore you even after the five-hundredth listening. Some people who simply cannot get into the magic of such music condemn it saying that it is as dull and sophisticated as the classical music. I'll comment on it in this way: I don't deny that progressive rock usually appeals to intelligent and well-educated people. That's why it's so unpopular. But I will claim that its main "disadvantage" is that it requires from the listener investing more time and attention than any other kind of music. It's a big challenge which makes progressive rock unacceptable for an accidental listener who just wants to put something on to have fun. You have to be a real enthusiast to appreciate progressive rock, a "freak". I described my music adventures so far in a form of a digest of the most important albums of my life. I hope that it will help people who have had no contact with such music make out what it's all about and find out their best representatives. Summing up: for me progressive rock is the ideal kind of music because being very complex, mind-blowing and challenging, it retains all features of rock music, and its exceptional power in particular.
Unfortunately, the genre is still somewhere in the background, if not completely out of media interest, and therefore has rather limited audience. Nevertheless, there are always enough of us to keep the whole movement alive and even developing. There are people who deserve special thanks for their engagement in propagating progressive rock in these difficult days: Piotr Kosinski, Tomasz Beksinski, Bartek Chacinski. Piotr Kosinski used to run a weekly radio show on RMF FM called "Rock Malowany Fantazja".

After being taken off the air by that commercially obsessed station Piotr found a place in Channel 3. Using Real Audio, you can also receive it through Internet! The show is held every 2 weeks on Sa turday Nights - starting on midnight.

Besides, I'd like to invite you to the first Polish mailing list dedicated to progressive rock and roundabouts: "Pawn Hearts". If you speak Polish, or know someone who does, go on and subscribe. You can visit it's Home Page before, or read the archives, then ask The Great Moderator (Tomek Kaszkur) to subscribe you.

And where else to go on my page?
