The increasing international mobility of goods, services, and factors of production affects economic growth, the distribution of income, and economic stability. Increased international mobility gives countries the opportunity to raise economic welfare. At the same time, integration remains incomplete in many ways, and it exposes countries to potential risks. The aim of the conference is to analyze the international mobility of goods, services and production factors and to study the implications for the world economy, for national economies, and for economic policy. Studying the degree of international integration is of special interest for today's European Union. On the one hand, the EU is an example of successful integration since most direct intra-European barriers to integration have been abolished. On the other hand, indirect barriers to integration persist, and the EU retains barriers to the integration vis-a-vis the rest of the world. We invite submissions of papers addressing the following topics:
The conference will be followed by a workshop for Ph.D. students on October 5th-6th, 2007. The workshop is to provide young researchers (in particular from Poland) with the opportunity to discuss their research agenda with international scholars.
